Is The Air You Breathe In Your Home Making You Sick?

The quality of the indoor air your family breathes is of the utmost importance, wouldn’t you agree? Of course you do. And that said, it might be time for some professional duct cleaning.

The duct system in your house functions as the respiratory system of your home. Think of it like your home’s lungs.

When the duct system becomes contaminated and congested, it needs to be cleaned so that it can “breathe” normally and more efficiently.

You May Need Air Duct Cleaning If…

There are several side effects you can experience if your air ducts are clogged and congested. If you answer “Yes” to one or more of the following questions, it’s probably time to give us a call to have your air duct system professionally cleaned.

  • Does anyone in your house have allergies, asthma, or other respiratory problems?
  • Does anyone in your family suffer from headaches, nasal congestion, or other sinus problems at night or in the morning?
  • Is there a smoker in the house?
  • Do you have dogs, cats or other pets?
  • Do you notice “musty” or “stale” odors when the furnace or air conditioner runs?
  • Do you notice dust on your furniture shortly after cleaning?
  • Does it seem like there is not enough air flow coming from your vents?
  • Is your furnace equipped only with a standard throw-away fiberglass filter?

Before Duct Cleaning

What Happens If I Don’t Get My Air Ducts Cleaned?

Dust, dirt, pollen, animal dander and other airborne particles are pulled into your duct system every time the furnace or air conditioner is running. These contaminates build up inside the ductwork over time and can help make your duct system an ideal breeding ground for mold spores, bacterial , fungus, mildew and other microbes.

Each time the furnace or air conditioner is turned on, contaminates are discharged into the air and circulated through your home and can affect the health and comfort of your family. Family members who suffer from allergies, asthma or other respiratory ailments as well as children and the elderly are especially vulnerable to the effects of indoor air pollutants.

The removal of contaminates via air duct cleaning from the entire HVAC system is recognized by industry experts as the most effective way to eliminate in air pollutants. This is referred to as the “source removal” method of duct cleaning.

In addition to the obvious health benefits, air duct cleaning can help you maintain a cleaner, Columbia and Clarksville home. It also helps to restore HVAC system capacity and lessen the running time of your system. This results in lower heating and cooling bills.

The Air Duct Cleaning Process

We use the most advanced H.E.P.A (High Efficiency Particulate Air) Filtered Air Duct Cleaning System available. It is designed and manufactured by Nikro Industries, one of the leading manufacturers of H.E.P.A. filtered vacuum equipment in the United States.

Note: All of our equipment is manufactured to meet or exceed OSHA, EPA and NADCA Standards for cleaning the air of nuisance dusts.

Our powerful H.E.P.A. Filtered Vacuum System will first be connected to the air duct near your furnace. Various tools will then be used to dislodge the contaminates and debris in your ductwork.

The powerful vacuum will then pull the contaminates out of the air ducts and through the filtration system returning clean air back into your home. Once your system is cleaned, all access holes will be resealed, returning your system to its original, clean condition.

After the air duct cleaning has taken place, professional duct cleaners can also sanitize your vents by inserting a fogger into each vent that coats all sides of the duct work. This coating prevents future growth of mold, mildew and fungus for a period of one year.
